Stabilizer helps to protect chlorine in pool water from dissipation caused by sunlight. Intense sunlight with low stabilizer will make maintaining the proper level of chlorine difficult.
Raises Stabilizer level to 30-80 ppm (do not exceed 100 ppm)
High Stabilizer levels will require a partial draining of the pool water to dilute the levels. Some Shocks such as quick shock have a residual of stabilizer built in and therefore raise your levels without the use of stabilizer. This is why we do not recommend continues use of these shocks as a weekly treatment.
Before adding stabilizer, backwash or clean filter. Then pour stabilizer directly into the skimmer. This is a slow dissolving chemical. it will dissolve in the filter over a 48 hour period. Do not backwash for several days after adding stabilizer
